Qualified Solicitor

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified private client solicitor to become part of a small but fast growing team.

Nelson Myatt Solicitors LLP, based in Llandudno Junction, was set up in 2014 and has established itself as a leading practice in North Wales. We are now looking to expand by finding the right individual(s) who are not afraid of hard work and are looking to further their career in civil law.

Nelson Myatt deal with all aspects of civil law, the main areas being family, conveyancing, private client, litigation, personal injury and employment.

This position would suit individuals who are multi skilled and able to adapt to the varied workload. We are ideally looking for individuals who specialises in litigation. Although we would welcome a specialist in a single discipline, we are a small firm and would expect you to be able to diversify to suit the incoming workload. You will need to have at least 2 years PQE.

We use LEAP case management software for which training can be given. We do not use secretarial staff and so in the main you would be responsible for maintaining and updating your own files. We do however provide admin and IT support.

Salary is competitive and would depend on your experience, we would offer a base salary with a yearly bonus scheme.

Essentials

  • Qualified Solicitor

  • 2 year PQE in any civil law discipline, with a litigation background/interest

  • Ability to work independently whilst also fitting into a small team environment.

Qualified Conveyancer (SRA or CLC)


We are looking for a Qualified Conveyancer with experience of running their own caseload in residential conveyancing. The vacancy is being offered on a full time basis but would consider part time.

The role requires someone able to maintain the highest level of client service to all parties. You must be able to handle matters of both Freehold and Leasehold properties from initial instruction through to post-completion, having ensured that all enquiries have been dealt with, title issues have been accurately resolved, all searches carried out and checked and mortgage conditions satisfied.

The Person

· Qualified as either a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer.

· Experienced in handling a residential conveyancing caseload.

· A good communicator understanding and empathising with the clients' requirements.

· Contribute towards the company's delivery of customer service and value.

· Ability to manage and run own files.

· 2+ Years PQE experience in conveyancing.

· Excellent negotiation skills.

· Ability to work under pressure.

· Excellent time management.

· Excellent IT skills.

· Excellent written skills.

· Ability to communicate well via telephone and email.

· Ability to build good working relationships with all levels of the business.

The Position

· Dealing with residential conveyancing matters.

· Managing their own caseload, including file reviews.

· Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

· Working closely with clients engaging with both existing relationships and helping to generate new business.

· Ensuring clients and other stakeholders are kept informed in a timely manner.

· Ensuring all time critical deadlines are met regarding matters.

· Experience with leasehold properties and corporate clients preferable.

· Preparation of contracts and supporting documents.

· Checking official copy documents and titles.

· Post completion work to include the filing of SDLT/LTT returns and lodging land registry applications in a timely manner.

· Be fully engaged with marketing the firm and be prepared to attend marketing events.
