We will keep you up to date of any ongoing fees so nothing is a surprise to you and you are always welcome to check with us at any point on your bill to date.

Why are different matters charged differently

As with lots of services, the costs of different types of work vary considerably based on the number of hours work required and any external charges that may be incurred (e.g. court fees, medical report fees, etc.) We always do our utmost to ensure that our clients get good value for money and where possible offer either fixed fees or work on a No Win No Fee basis.

There are of course circumstances where we have to charge an hourly rate in order to provide clients with a fair price. A prime example of this is probate. Some estates can be dealt with swiftly and with minimal paperwork. However, other estates will require an application for a grant of probate, tax returns, dealing with complicated assets or corresponding with lots of beneficiaries.  The hourly charges will directly relate to the amount of work done by the solicitor.
