Charity wills week
We are waiving our wills fees for one week in August to raise money for Ty Gobaith hospice.
Why should I make a Will?
Nelson Myatt encourage all our clients to make Wills. A Will is a legal document which clearly says who you want to appoint to deal with your estate, look after your children, and receive your assets when you have died.
We will discuss everything with you in detail and make sure that your Will does exactly what you want it to do.
Who can make a Will?
The law currently allows anyone aged 18 or over who has enough mental capacity and understanding to make a Will.
Can you store my Will?
We can store your Will for no extra charge. This means that it is safely stored for your executors to collect when you die.
How do I make an appointment?
Give us a call as soon as possible because there are limited Will Week appointments available – 01492 588200
What should I bring to my appointment?
Your donation cheque. Make it payable to Ty Gobaith.
Your ID. We normally need one form of photo ID and a recent bill or bank statement.
A summary of your current assets.
The full names and addresses of anyone who will be mentioned in your will as executor, guardian and/or beneficiary.
A list of any questions you have about making your Will – sometimes it’s easy to forget to ask something once you’re in an appointment.
How much should I donate?
Our normal charge for Wills are:
single will - £150 plus VAT
mirror wills - £250 plus VAT.
You can choose how much you donate, but we suggest donations of at least
single will - £95
mirror wills - £150
That way you save money and Ty Gobaith gets a good donation too.
Can I Gift Aid my donation?
Yes. We will have forms available for you to fill in to make sure that Gift Aid is claimed against your donation.
What happens with my donation?
Nelson Myatt Solicitors don’t make any money from your Will and we donate all our time and resources. Every penny that you donate goes straight to Ty Gobaith. Make your donation cheque payable to Ty Gobaith and we will pass it on to them at the end of Will Week.
Will I be charged anything else?
If you just make a straightforward Will then there will not be any other charges. However, if your Will is particularly complicated, or if you ask us to do other work for you then other charges will apply. We will always discuss costs with you before you incur them.
