Job description

We are looking for a Qualified Conveyancer with experience of running their own caseload in residential and/or commercial conveyancing. The vacancy is being offered on a full time basis but would consider part time.

The role requires someone able to maintain the highest level of client service to all parties. You should ideally be able to handle matters of both Freehold and Leasehold properties from initial instruction through to post-completion, having ensured that all enquiries have been dealt with, title issues have been accurately resolved, all searches carried out and checked and mortgage conditions satisfied.

Nelson Myatt Solicitors LLP, based in Llandudno Junction, was set up in 2014 and has established itself as a leading practice in North Wales. We are now looking to expand by finding the right individual who is not afraid of hard work and is looking to join a small friendly team.

We are a very forward-thinking practice using modern technology to ensure maximum efficiency.  We utilise a client portal making it easy for clients to complete all the initial forms quickly and easily. We have Biometric ID testing and use LEAP case management software for which training can be given.

Our administration team deal with the initial set up of new matters, collect and verify ID through to issue of contract pack before handing over to the conveyancer.

The person

  • Qualified as either a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer

  • Experienced in handling a residential conveyancing caseload.

  • Commercial experience a distinct advantage

  • Contribute towards the company's delivery of customer service and value.

  • Ability to manage and run own files.

  • 1+ Years PQE experience in conveyancing.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Excellent IT skills.

  • Excellent written skills.

  • Ability to communicate well via telephone and email.

  • Ability to build good working relationships with all levels of the business.

The Position

  • Dealing with residential conveyancing matters.

  • Managing their own caseload, including file reviews.

  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Working closely with clients engaging with both existing relationships and helping to generate new business.

  • Ensuring clients and other stakeholders are kept informed in a timely manner.

  • Ensuring all time critical deadlines are met regarding matters.

  • Experience with leasehold properties and corporate clients preferable.

  • Preparation of contracts and supporting documents.

  • Checking official copy documents and titles.

  • Post completion work to include the filing of SDLT/LTT returns and lodging land registry applications in a timely manner.

  • Be fully engaged with marketing the firm and be prepared to attend marketing events.
