Nelson Myatt Solicitors is seeking an ambitious, motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Solicitor to join our busy and growing team in Llandudno Junction.

We are a friendly, dynamic and client-focused law firm providing legal services across North Wales and beyond. Our areas of practice include:

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring solicitor to gain practical experience across a variety of legal disciplines whilst developing their career within a supportive and professional environment.

The Opportunity  

 

The successful candidate will work closely with our solicitors, developing the skills and experience required for a successful legal career. You will gain hands-on experience in a range of areas including:

  • Legal research and analysis

  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence

  • Client interviews and client care

  • Negotiation and dispute resolution

  • File management and case progression

  • Court and procedural work

  • Compliance and regulatory requirements

Whilst the training period is likely to involve significant exposure to litigation, personal injury and family law matters, candidates will also gain experience in other practice areas across the firm, including residential conveyancing, depending on business needs and individual development objectives.

As your experience grows, you will progress towards managing your own caseload under appropriate supervision.

Essential Requirements 

 

​Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • A bachelor's degree (Law or non-Law).

  • A strong academic record.

  • Evidence of strong communication, teamwork and analytical thinking skills.

  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the legal profession.

  • Relevant legal experience, such as vacation schemes, paralegal work, legal clinics or internships (although this is not always mandatory).

  • Successful completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC); or

  • Successful completion of both SQE1 and SQE2.

  • The ability to satisfy the Solicitors Regulation Authority's character and suitability requirements.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

 

Preference may be given to candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Relevant legal work experience or participation in vacation schemes.

  • Experience or a particular interest in family law, litigation, personal injury or conveyancing.

  • Strong commercial awareness.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and legal research abilities.

  • Experience working directly with clients.

  • A proactive, professional and client-focused approach.
